Beatline Studio — make music in your browser
Beatline is a free digital audio workstation (DAW) that runs entirely in your web browser.
It works on Windows, macOS, Linux and ChromeOS with nothing to install, and projects save
automatically in the browser — an account is only needed for optional cloud storage.
Getting started
- Pick a template or start an empty project from the project hub.
- Click steps on the Page to build a drum pattern, then press Space to play it.
- Open the piano roll on an instrument channel to add chords and a melody.
- Arrange your patterns in the playlist, balance them in the mixer, and export.
What each part does
- Step sequencer (the Page, F6)
- One row per sound and sixteen steps to the bar — the quickest way to program drums.
- Playlist
- Patterns become blocks you arrange on a timeline into a full song.
- Piano roll (F7)
- Draw notes, place whole chords with chord stamps, snap to a scale, or let the Riff
Machine suggest progressions, basslines and melodies.
- Sampler
- Load a sound from the free library or upload your own WAV or MP3, then pitch, stretch,
trim it, or slice a loop into one channel per hit.
- Mixer
- Per-channel faders, pan, buses and routing, with automation lanes for volume, pan and
effect parameters.
- Effects
- Insert EQ, compression, sidechain ducking, saturation, delay, reverb, modulation effects
and the tempo-synced Time Shaper on any mixer channel.
- Recording
- Record your microphone straight onto a track, or play instruments from a MIDI keyboard.
- Export
- Render the song to MP3 or WAV, export MIDI, share a public link, or download an FL-ready
ZIP with a MIDI file and one WAV stem per mixer channel.
